CIC Cambridge invites you to a celebration of literature and the spoken word. This evening event will feature a story slam competition from Massmouth with stories from the CIC community and the public at large and the launch of the second issue of an independent fiction publication. Food and beverage provided!
They say "child's play" is easy. But how about epic adventures, sibling rivalries, or games that spin out of control? Or a task you thought would be "child's play," and oh, so wasn't? Come tell your own best 5-minute true story of playful pandemonium at our "Child's Play" story slam at CIC ArtWeek!
Doors open at 5pm for FREE food and drink and an hour to mingle. The story slam starts at 6pm. We will also be celebrating local independent fiction publication, The Cantabrigian Magazine, with a reading from the next issue. It'll be a great mash-up of business and tech innovators, storytellers, and literary mavens – in short, an evening of people who play.
When:
Tuesday, May 1st
Food & drink, 5-6pm
Story slam and reading, 6-8pm
To access the 5th floor event space, bring a valid ID to show to first-floor security and tell them you are attending the show.
Tickets are $10 for the general public and are available here or at the door
What:
A story slam is a storytelling event where audience members become the tellers! Anyone can throw their name in the hat for the chance to tell a 5-minute true story from their lives on the evening's theme: Child's Play. A team of five volunteer judges will evaluate the stories and the night's top-scorer wins a prize.
