OPENING RECEPTION for still life, where Christina Pitsch continues her inquiry into relationships and perception with a new series that focuses on ornamentation. She references historical chinoiserie patterns with a twist by recreating them in cardboard and artificial flowers, which are then translated to porcelain and bone china. The results create a dialogue between highbrow versus lowbrow, questioning the notion of decoration, ornamentation and opulence through quintessential representations of nature throughout history.


The exhibition takes place Wed. August 31 - Sun. October 2, 2016.
