Join the CAA and learn about chlorophyll printing: printing images on leaves using the sun! Instructor Megan Bent has been chlorophyll printing since 2015 and will share her tips and tricks in this magical process with attendees.
In this two-day workshop, participants will delve into the history of chlorophyll printing and explore artworks created using this technique. They will have the opportunity to assemble their own contact printing frames and set up chlorophyll prints for exposure to sunlight. The workshop will conclude with a sharing session where participants can showcase their creations, reflect on their experiences, and address any lingering questions. This unique process is inviting due to its low material cost, ability to create analog images without a darkroom or chemicals, and its truly remarkable results!
Materials List (please bring to class)
Please bring materials for making a contact printing frame: Glass and a strong backing board, size 8x10" recommended. If you own a contact printing frame you are welcome to bring that. The instructor will send an email to attendees with more detailed recommendations ahead of the workshop.
