About the comics:

Steph Dalwin (she/her) is a Boston-based standup comedian. She's part Vietnamese, part Jewish, and 100% lactose intolerant. Steph was recently featured on PBS Stories from the Stage, and has opened for comedians like Jay Jurden and Rachel Scanlon. She also performed at the Far From Here Comedy Festival in Toronto. Beyond performing, Steph produces shows throughout the Boston area. She is a founder of Boston's first and only Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Comedy Festival. She also co-founded New Normal Comedy, a production collective that centers underrepresented voices in comedy: women, BIPOC performers, folks across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum, people with disabilities, etc.

Sehar Mahmood is a standup comic and graduate of Kathe Farris's 2024 class. Sehar regularly performs in the Boston area and is now a regular at the Tavern open mic. She has traveled to 27 countries and somehow has not yet gone bankrupt. When not traveling, Sehar enjoys meditation, yoga, trying to tame her 2 reactive rescue dogs, and more adventurous pursuits like rock climbing and rappelling down waterfalls (that was just once but still the coolest part of this bio). Her material is inspired by dating and single life, random things she experienced growing up in a Pakistani immigrant household, and her family.

Rachel Coppola learned standup comedy from teachers Kathe Farris, Zach Stewart, and Josh Filipowski and regularly performs at mics around Boston, including the Tavern in Charlestown. She loves finding humor in everyday life, and her comedy focuses on single life, family, and the many other random thoughts tumbling around in her head.

Emily Mu is a Boston-based comedian. She hosts monthly comedy nights at Dani’s Queer Bar, was runner up of the Big Queer Talent Show, and performed at the Boston Comedy Festival and the AAPI Comedy Festival. Her comedy tends to be both personal and a little bit dark.

Jeanne DeRosa is a “vintage” baby comic, having just graduated from a stand-up class with Kathe Farris last May. She’s not only standing up, but also walking—though it’s still more of a “wobbly toddler” situation. Her comedy blends storytelling with a touch of wordplay magic, making her a master of both the awkward pause and the clever twist. When she’s not making fun of her increasingly questionable dating life on stage, Jeanne can be found teaching math to the next generation of young minds—because someone has to teach them that all x’s aren’t as evil as hers.

Julie Wesner is a graduate of Kathe Farris's 2023 stand-up class and regularly performs in shows in the North Shore comedy scene, including Crusttown eats, Funny Vibes, and Popp boutique in Cambridge. Julie likes to make jokes about all the stand-up classes she's taken with Kathe, her odd jobs, medical issues, and other random happenings from around town.

Krista Patronick has been performing comedy locally in the Upper Valley of New Hampshire since 2023. After the death of her husband in 2022, Krista brings a “hot young widows club” perspective to her comedy. Everything from dealing with loss to dating again in her mid-thirties, Krista aims to let others know they aren’t alone in experiencing grief and that it’s okay to laugh (and cry… but laughing will make your eyes less puffy).z

Shruti Datari is a Boston comedian and producer of Half a Mind Comedy, which runs comedy shows with an emphasis on inclusion, community, and uncensored self expression. She is also a co-producer at New Normal comedy, which seeks to highlight comics from marginalized backgrounds. A two-time Burren winner, Shruti has performed all over the Boston area, from comedy clubs like Nick’s Comedy Stop & The Comedy Studio to sketchy basements that violate fire codes. She started doing comedy after sustaining a traumatic brain injury, because she figured after learning how to walk and talk again, conquering her fear of public speaking wouldn’t be that hard. She was greatly mistaken and lives with regret to this day.
