The Charles River Conservancy (CRC) and Charles River Swimming Club (CRSC), in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), is proud to announce the Charles River Swimming Day on June 15, 2019.


Made possible through DCR Special Use Permits, the public is invited to participate in the 11th Annual One Mile Swim and the 6th Annual City Splash that day at the DCR’s Fiedler Dock on the Esplanade in Boston, MA. A rain date is planned for June 22, 2019. Join the CRC in the evening for an afterparty at Za across the river from Fiedler Dock.


For the first time, both events will be on the same day in celebration of river swimming.


One Mile Race


Distance: 1 mile


Date: Saturday, June 15, 2019 (Rain date is Saturday, June 22, 2019)


Start: 8am


Check-in: 6:45am – 7:20am


Location: River Dock (near Arthur Fiedler head statue by the Hatch Shell on Esplanade)


Description: One-mile loop course between Harvard and Longfellow Bridge. Water start. Please see maps.


Fees: Registration will open on March 21. The fee is $45 until May 1, $55 until May 24, and $65 until June 14. Sign up early to save on fees! USMS membership is a requirement and a one-day membership can be purchased as part of the registration process for $15.


Participant cap: 200 swimmers


Registration: Registration will open in March for our 2019 swim.


City Splash 2019


When: June 15th, 2019, afternoon
Where: DCR’s Fiedler Community Dock, Esplanade, Boston
Who: Experienced swimmers who are confident in deep water
Why: Because who doesn’t want to brag about swimming in the Charles!


Afterparty
When: June 15th, 2019, evening
Where: Za, across the river in Cambridge
Who: All, whether you swim or not
What: Pizza, Drinks, Meet the staff
