The Umbrella Arts Center’s self-guided public art tour on the theme of “Air” distributed in green spaces all around Concord, MA, part of the multiweek spring Artfest celebration
April 25-May 31
As part of The Umbrella Arts & Environment program’s modified Earth Day Celebration for 2021, and the kick off to The Umbrella Artfest, this Art Walk approximates the route and spirit of Concord’s traditional Musketaquid Earth Day Parade through the town of Concord.
The Art Walk exhibits outdoor, air-inspired artwork by several regional artists that engages the element of “Air” — whether banner, windchime, pinwheel, or any other creative forms. Starting at The Umbrella Arts Center, 40 Stow Street, site of the collaborative, community-created “Here Comes the Sun” sculpture, explore the air-inspired art scattered throughout Concord Center’s conservation land. Use the free Umbrella Artfest mobile app, the Artfest Kidstrack coloring activity sheet, self-guided audio tour Google Map, or the QR codes on exhibition signs to listen to the artists discuss their work and inspirations.
