Unquestionably the capital of classical music, Vienna has long been a magnet for composers, painters, philosophers, and artists of all kinds. Chameleon Arts Ensemble opens its 25th anniversary season with a typically inventive program exploring the rich and lasting musical legacy of the City of Dreams. It includes Mozart’s D Major Quartet for flute and strings, selections from Schoenberg’s Book of Hanging Gardens for soprano and piano, and Brahms’ Piano Quartet No. 2 in A Major, alongside two homages: Aaron Jay Kernis’ Mozart en Route (or, A Little Traveling Music) for string trio and Elliott Schwartz’s Vienna Dreams for clarinet, viola, and piano.
Tickets are $50, $39 or $28 with $5 off for students and seniors.
