Chameleon Arts Ensemble presents an electrifying chamber music program at intersection of past and present. Beethoven breaks free from his Classical roots with his Quintet for piano and winds, while Serge Arcuri animates fantastical scenes from Medieval manuscripts in Les Furieuses enluminures. Rebecca Clarke plays hide and seek with quixotic clouds in her Midsummer Moon for violin and piano, and Thomas Adès unveils Couperin’s Les baricades mistérieuses for the 21st century with a shimmering, kaleidoscopic trompe l’oeil. Shostakovich, too, looks to the past, bringing Baroque grandeur to his striking Piano Quintet, as shadows of history give way to the future.
Tickets are $52, $41 or $30 with $5 off for students and seniors.
