About Celebrate the Summer Solstice Hike

Summer arrives with the summer solstice marking the longest day of the year and the day when the midday sun reaches its highest point in the sky.

The summer solstice occurs this year on Sunday, June 20th, and we’ll celebrate that coming day with a nature walk on June 17th through beautiful Mary Cummings Park in Burlington to enjoy the abundance of the natural world. The walk will focus on plant ID, fun and interesting natural history about past and present human uses, as well as tales and legends about the plants we see. We’ll also celebrate the season with a little poetry and solstice lore.

Space is limited; Pre-registration required. Children ages 10 and up are welcome to register if accompanied by an adult.

Please remember to wear your face mask while we are in a group on the hike.
