Casa Myrna and Beat the Odds (BTO) are thrilled to announce the launch of the Red Flags and Roses Youth-Led Campaign — a creative initiative dedicated to raising awareness around teen dating violence. The campaign kicks off with a special event on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the WBUR CitySpace located at 890 Commonwealth Avenue in Boston.
Red Flags and Roses is rooted in the expertise of BTO and Casa Myrna. This youth-led digital campaign aims to spotlight the signs of unhealthy relationships, provide empowering knowledge, and foster a community built on respect, empathy, and creativity. Together, we aspire to break the silence surrounding relationship issues, creating a society where everyone can thrive in the embrace of healthy connections. Together, let's empower our youth to reshape relationship culture and prevent teen dating violence.
Part of the Mayor’s Youth Week, the event promises a meaningful evening featuring a special viewing of digital campaign content created by BTO youth participants, live performances, and a delectable assortment of food and beverages by Everybody Gotta Eat.
In addition to event guests witnessing the creativity and dedication of BTO youth participants as they unveil the digital campaign content created to raise awareness about teen dating violence, there will also be live performances by Amanda Shea, Red Shaydez, and BTO Youth Leaders Sanye and Jo Saza. Music will be provided by DJ Stix and DJ Kitz, and guests will have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and organizations committed to reshaping relationship culture and preventing teen dating violence.
