Join us Saturday October 5 as Surfrider makes it way down to Cape Cod as part of the ongoing efforts of the Cape Cod Coastsweep! We’re excited to be getting involved on the Cape and hope that this is the first of many events! The cleanup will begin at 11:00 by the lifeguard house where we will introduce the Surfrider Foundation and go over a safety briefing.
There’s a lot of beach to cover with both the harbor side and sound side, but many hands make light work! Necessary cleanup supplies will be provided, but please come with water in your own (reusable) water bottle and shoes comfortable for walking on the beach. Stay tuned for more details about a reception afterwards where we can continue the conversation about Surfrider and the Cape and how we can increase our impact on the Capes fragile and essential ecosystems!
Parking: There is ample parking in the Kalmus Beach parking lot at no charge in the off season, we suggest parking down by the lifeguard house where we will gather at the beginning and end of the cleanup.
Transportation: For those coming from off Cape without a car accessible, there is a bus station on Hyannis Main Street which the Plymouth & Brockton goes to and from Boston. The bus terminus is about a 30 minute walk north of the beach.
