Cantata Singers presents Pärt, Victoria, and Harris on Mother’s Day weekend!
You have two chances to hear this stunning program! Contemporary Estonian composer Arvo Pärt sets the Berliner Messe to hauntingly lush and beautiful music for chorus and organ, while Spanish Renaissance composer Tomás Luis de Victoria’s a cappella Officium defunctorum, a Requiem mass, contrasts with themes of mourning and remembrance. English composer William Harris’ elegant Faire is the Heaven rounds out the final concert of Cantata Singers’ 54th season.
William Cutter, Director of Choral Programs at MIT, will give the pre-concert talks at 7pm and 2pm. Following the performances, all are welcome at free post-concert receptions.
