Families of children with special needs or medical complexity and professionals and trainees in education, healthcare, or counseling are invited to a free, three-hour online presentation, “Parenting, Communication and Emotions: Perspectives on Our Children with Extensive Support and Medical Needs,” hosted by the Campus School at Boston College on Saturday, November 5, 2022.
Presentations by leading experts will cover topics including:
● the role of emotion science in supporting children, families and school communities to thrive;
● advice for parents on at-home literacy development activities such as story boxes, experience books, and shared learning;
● guidance for parents of children with medical complexity on how to navigate ‘the system’ and care for their own mental and physical health.
