Join Calliope's Call in their first Cross Connections concert program, a series that presents selected works of song by a featured composer alongside works by other composers and poets who have influenced the featured artist's life and career. This first Cross Connections program will focus on the compositions of revered living art song composer, Tom Cipullo, whose works explore the entire spectrum of human emotions. Cipullo's works will be presented with works by his mentor and teacher, David Del Tredici, and two of his compositional idols, Robert Schumann and Frank Loesser. The program will also feature three winners of the Calliope's Call 3rd Call for Scores compositions, whose songs all set poetry by Cipullo's favorite poet, Emily Dickinson.
Calliope’s Call is a new, professional, and innovative art song performance group based in New England. Our artists are professional emerging and established singers and instrumentalists from around the country performing in New England and surrounding areas. Calliope’s Call creates unique and dynamic programs of art song by contemporary and new composers as well as by traditional composers to share with our audiences.
