Business Insights:
The Future of the Japanese Economy in a Dynamic Political Environment
Kosuke Motani is the Chief Senior Economist at the Japan Research Institute. Motani brings real-time data and insights to an array of audiences, including the Asia Society and The Japan Society of New York. He is the author of the best-selling books: "Satoyama Capitalism" and "Defure no Shoutai" (The Truth Behind Deflation). Motani's presentation will address the Japanese economy from multiple perspectives, giving our audience a range of data to apply to their business goals. Topics will include:
1) A quick review of the real state of the Japanese economy: Is it a boom, a recession, or simply stable?
2) How does Japan compete with the US, China, Korea, and Taiwan? Stable profits and the sudden influx on Asian tourists.
3) Why does Abe continue to win elections? Are there similarities and differences with President Trump?
4) How may North Korea's increased belligerence affect these trends?
Following the presentation, connect with Japanese and American colleagues over sushi and food provided by Snappy Sushi, Itadaki and Yume Wo Katare.
Presented in partnership by the Japan Society of Boston and the Japanese Business Bureau of Boston
