Have you ever wanted to learn to make furniture? Have an idea for your apartment but nowhere to learn or try it out? This hands-on class will introduce you to fine woodworking furniture. We will start from one rough lumber Cherry board to create a Shaker style Cherry Side Table. The techniques and skills learned in this class will allow the you to get creative and build your own bookcase, bed frame or anything you can imagine. You will also be introduced to many of the woodshop tools Chisel to Tablesaw, Router, Band saw, Joiner, Planer and Miter saw.
Topics covered in the class: rough lumber to dimensional stock, table top-full assembly glue-up and Mortise-Tenon joint. In addition, students will learn some hand tool woodworking skills.
The Class will be divided into two separate classes:
Part 1 classes run 9/30/19 – 10/10/19 ($400 registration fee, plus $200 materials fee)
Part 2 classes run following this course and only open for participants who completed Part 1 ($400 registration, plus $200 materials fee). You will finish your table in Part 2, but may stop after Part 1 if you wish to complete the project on your own.
