BSO 101: Are You Listening? returns in 2018-19, again offering the opportunity to increase your enjoyment of BSO concerts.

These five sessions with BSO Director of Program Publications Marc Mandel (11/14 & 2/13), Associate Director of Program Publications Robert Kirzinger (10/17, 1/16 & 4/3), and members of the BSO are designed to enhance your listening abilities and appreciation of music.

Each session focuses on upcoming BSO repertoire, examining and illuminating aspects of musical shape and form, and of composers’ individual musical styles. Each session also includes recorded musical examples and is self-contained, so no prior musical training, or attendance at any previous session, is required.

Program information for 1/16:
HAYDN Symphony No. 44, Trauer (BSO concerts of January 31 and February 1, 2 & 5, 2019)
BRAHMS Symphony No. 1 (BSO concerts of January 17, 18, 19, & 22, 2019)
SIBELIUS Symphonies 6 & 7 (BSO concerts of January 24, 25, 26 & 29, 2019)
COPLAND Symphony No. 3 (BSO concerts of February 7, 8, 9 and 12, 2019)
