What happens outside a building can be just as important as what happens inside. The facade, streetscape, and activities that happen in front of a building all have an effect on a visitor before they even step inside. During this tour, led by CultureHouse Executive Director Aaron Greiner, we will look at buildings that have varying degrees of success in integrating with their surroundings. We hear from the architects, designers, and planners behind these projects and engage in interactive workshops. From these observations and learnings, we discuss strategies for creating a vibrant street front in building projects.
The tour will take approximately three hours and will start in North Point Park and end at Urban Park (UP) at Kendall Center with post-ride snacks provided by Selbert Perkins Design.
Participants should be comfortable biking on low-traffic city streets and in bike lanes and are recommended to bring their own bikes. If you do not have your own bike, you may rent a Bluebike with a $10 adventure pass (there will be a station near the start and end of the route).
If the ticket price is a barrier to you, please email [email protected].
