The Genki Spark & Brookline High School Japanese Program Present the 6th annual Brookline Cherry Blossom Festival!


Join us in dance, taiko, and eating for the Japanese celebration of cherry blossoms and the arrival of spring!


$5 Student Rate
$10-$20 per family


Tentative Schedule:
(Blankets and Lawn Chairs welcome)


12PM Opening by The Genki Spark Craft, Game, and Food Tables Open!
12:30PM Odaiko New England
1PM Mountain River Taiko
1:30PM Takahashi Minyo Kai, Circle of Friends Boston
2:00PM Bon Odori (festival dancing),
2:30PM ShinDaiko
3PM The Genki Spark
3:30PM Artistic finale


Food:
Delicious Japanese festival favorites including yakisoba, okonomiyaki, takoyaki, chicken katsu sandwiches, teriyaki burger, futomaki (sushi), California rolls, shaved ice, ramune, and more will be provided by:
- Hana Japan (Newburyport, MA)
- Ittoku (Allston, MA)
- Itadaki (Boston, MA)
- Japonaise Bakery/Café (Boston, MA)
- Snappy Ramen (Somerville, MA)
- Beard Papa (Boston, MA)
Plus a bake sale by Brookline High School students.


Games/Crafts:
Kite making, goldfish fishing, yo-yo balloons, make your own hachimaki, write your name in katakana, kendama, ring toss, painting, Doraemon masks, chopstick competitions, yukata dress-up, face-painting, cherry blossom painting, and more!
