The Brighton Bangers, MySecretBoston and Community Rowing are hosting their third annual 5K run along the Charles River on Saturday, Sept. 17 to benefit In the Same Boat, a free program at Community Rowing for disabled and able-bodied military veterans readjusting to civilian life, and Back on My Feet, which uses running to helps neighbors who are down on their luck.
This unique running event ends at the Harry Parker Boathouse during MySecretBoston and Community Rowing’s annual free music & rowing festival, Rumble on the River. This seventh annual event includes free beer (21+), food trucks, a rowing regatta and an afternoon of live local music.
For the Brighton Bangers 5K, trophies and $550 worth of prizes will be awarded to the top three men and women. There is also a team competition.
Additional sponsors and supporters include Marathon Sports, Wegmans, New Balance, Whole Foods Market, Boston College, and b.fresh.
