Instructor: Alyson Prokop (she/her/hers), Manager of Adult Education
Alyson Prokop joins NEBG as the Manager of Adult Education after a decade at Royal Botanical Gardens Canada, where she worked as a Horticulturist and educator. There, she led the creation and management of a 1.34-acre Teaching and Community Food Gardens and over 25+ local community gardens. Her efforts led to the cultivation of diverse crops and the production of over 20,000 lbs of vegetables for local food banks and meal programmes. Alyson holds a BSc (Hons) in Plant Biology and MSc in Plant Pathology from the University of Guelph, making her a formally trained botanist with a lifelong passion for gardening and collection's management. Before moving to Worcester, Alyson owned a small cut flower market garden with 15 Buckfast beehives. At NEBG, Alyson is excited to expand the garden and horticulture programmes whilst focusing on garden sustainability, diversifying programme offerings, expanding the NEBG Apiary, and ensuring garden accessibility for all.
