Boston University's College of Communication presents a once-in-a-lifetime experience for high school students interested in journalism, communications or writing: the Boston University Summer Journalism Institute.


Students learn core journalism skills plus investigative and multimedia techniques through a mix of instruction, activities and practical application. Students will have the opportunity to work with working journalists and report and write on real-time events happening in the Greater Boston area.


Each assignment is hands-on. Each day is different. Each two-week session is fun and exciting.


Students choose the session they would like attend according to theirs and their families summer schedule. Our dates for 2020 are:


Session 1: June 22 to July 3, 2020
Session 2: July 6 to July 17, 2020
Session 3: July 20 to July 31, 2020
