Starting January 3 through May 1, The City of Boston will be offering virtual classes to be enjoyed online from the safety of your home, sponsored by Boston Parks and Recreation, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, and the Boston Public Health Commission.
SCHEDULE:
Virtual Dance HIIT - Mondays from 5-6pm
Dance Fit is a cardio-dance-based class that will get your heart pumping and hips shaking while combining strength moves to get you stronger! Move and dance to the beat while breaking a sweat and torching calories.
Virtual Salsa - Tuesdays from 6-7pm
Learn a variety of dance styles through Salsa Suelta line dancing with MetaMovements' Eli Pabon and special guests!
Virtual Line Dancing - Wednesdays from 7-8pm
Move to the music in a fun workout that involves choreographed steps and upbeat dancing.
Virtual Chair Yoga - Thursdays from 11am-12pm
This gentle form of yoga can be done sitting on a chair, or standing on the ground while using the chair for support.
Virtual Zumba - Thursdays from 6-7pm
Zumba involves energetic dance and aerobic elements. Instructors provide choreographed moves of hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo, and martial arts.
Virtual Barre - Fridays from 6:30-7:30pm
This Barre class is designed to help tone and strengthen your muscles by combining ballet-inspired moves with elements of Pilates, dance, yoga, and strength training. Expect high repetitions, small movements, and plenty of modifications to make this the perfect workout for all fitness levels. All you need is a chair.
Virtual Strength Training - Saturdays from 9-10am
Boston’s WFS Strength Training class will focus on range of motion and compound movements to challenge the total body for an all-out workout be ready to work hard, sweat, and have a good time.
Virtual Family Fitness - Sundays from 10:30-11:30am
What better way to start off your morning than with an amazing workout with your family? Classes are designed to create bonding experiences, encourage healthy habits, and to teach new fitness activities. Grab the family and join the fun.
Virtual Yoga - Sundays from 6-7pm
Trained yoga instructor Bonafide Vinyasa offers an accessible, alignment-based compassionate yoga practice geared to finding and creating strength, mobility, and balance through the postures of yoga. An all levels yoga flow class. Yoga blocks, straps, mat and comfortable clothing for movement suggested.
