Fourth of July Fireworks Cruise on the Charles. Pure magic aboard the Double Eagle - a vintage lobster boat!
Welcome aboard the Double Eagle Fourth of July cruise for a magical evening of fireworks, Boston Pops music and summer breezes on the Charles River. We will meet you at 6 PM on the Cambridge esplanade, just behind the The Esplanade Condos. (The corner of Charles Parkway and Binney Street but on the river of course!) A private launch will pick you up and whisk you to the Double Eagle - very James Bond - and back again at evening's end at 11 PM.
The launch will bring you to the Double Eagle that will be anchored just down river from the Hatch Shell - the absolute perfect place to hear the Boston Pops and view the July 4th fireworks!
Feel free to bring champagne, cold beer or your favorite adult beverage; mixers, soft drinks, glasses, ice, sandwiches and delicious hors hors d'oeuvres will await you.
This is a one of a kind, cruise with space for only 22 passengers. This cruise appeals to people who do not want to be aboard a big crowded boat with loud music or caught in throngs of people on the esplanade. This is an exclusive, intimate event aboard a real lobster boat!
Bring friends, family, kids, and bring yourselves to this special evening on the Charles. Be sure to also bring a sweater as a cool breeze can blow across the bow even in the summer.
What to expect? The best Fourth of July experience available in Boston. You will be on the water, away from the crowds and noise with great views of the fireworks! There is nothing like it!
About the Double Eagle: The Double Eagle is a vintage lobster boat built in 1973 by America's oldest boat builders, the Hodgdon Brothers, established in 1815. She is an authentic old-school lobster boat, made entirely of wood, the kind they don't make any more. After years of lobstering on the Maine seacoast, she retired to the slightly warmer waters of Cape Ann where she spends her days in Salem Harbor and northward taking local and out-of-town passengers for harbor tours, seal watches and sunset cruises. She also has enjoyed many a celebration - birthdays, engagement parties and anniversaries. The captain, Walter, is known to spin a salty yarn or too, and is damn good host too!
Parking is available at 23 Cambridge Way Parking in the Royal Sonesta, and at the CambridgeSide Galleria Mall.
