This concert will present classical, opera, dance, and more by students from Boston Conservatory at Berklee and the Berklee Global Jazz Institute. Matthew Marsit, chair of Instrumental Studies, will conduct a chamber group of Boston Conservatory at Berklee students performing David Biedenbender's “Shell and Wing.” Patty Thom, chair of Voice, will present “Povero Ernesto” from Don Pasquale by Gaetano Donizetti, and “La Donna è Mobile” from Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi. Tommy Neblett, dean of the Dance Division, will present a performance by Conservatory dance students. The showcase will also feature performances by four Berklee Global Jazz Masters Ensembles, led by Marco Pignataro, managing director of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute.
The concert is part of Berklee's biennial Global Summit – a gathering of the college’s Global Partners featuring speakers, panels and presentations. Berklee Global Partners (formerly the Berklee International Network) has grown into a collective of nearly 50 institutions and organizations around the world since its founding in 1993. Berklee’s academic partnerships with institutions in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, and the U.S., have facilitated a path for more than 2,000 students to attend Berklee since its inception.
