Mayor Marty Walsh has invited Boston Baroque to perform its fourth annual Free Community Concert at the Strand Theatre on Monday, January 2 at 2pm. Bring your family and friends as the orchestra plays “Music for Royal Fireworks” by Handel and two sparkling works by J. S. Bach, featuring violin virtuoso Christina Day Martinson. Opening up the imagination to the sights and sounds of an actual fireworks display, "Music for Royal Fireworks" was written for King George II of England to help celebrate a royal occasion in 1749. The event on January 2 is free, but tickets are required.
