Join the New England Aquarium, in partnership with the Boston Harbor Women of Color Coalition, to celebrate the launch of marine biologist Jasmin Graham's new memoir, Sharks Don’t Sink. In the book, Graham shares her journey as a young Black scientist navigating the challenges of flourishing outside the traditional confines of academia, inspired by her innate connection to nature’s most misunderstood animal—the shark.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Jasmin Graham is a marine biologist specializing in elasmobranch ecology and evolution, with a focus on smalltooth sawfish and hammerhead sharks. She is the co-founder of Minorities in Shark Sciences, an organization dedicated to supporting women of color in the field of shark biology and ecology, fostering greater diversity in marine science. Jasmin is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the WWF Conservation Leadership Award, the Safina Launchpad Center Fellowship, and a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.
