About The Roy Juno:
Roy Juno is the collective name shared by three producers/instrumentalists currently based in the underground Allston, MA scene. Led by lyricist/frontman Sayak Das, Roy Juno blends modernized themes like struggling with identity, glorifying false heroes, and celebrity ego death, with a sound design that transports the listener to an era where synthesizers were the vanguard of sensible pop.
The trio is composed of a rhythm section who pride themselves on seamlessly blending a wide range of musical backgrounds, resulting in a truly rare modern pop sound. Henri Young (bass/synythsizer) draws inspiration from bands like The Killers, Micheal Jackson, Arcade Fire, Tame Impala, and The Talking Heads. Josh Parra, (drums, auxiliary sampling) ushers in a darker side to the sound with artists such as The 1975, Lany, Gallant, Nothing But Thieves.
Roy Juno allows raw live energy to coexist with a meticulous attention to detail in the studio. aspects of the bands live sound and studio sound share equal parts in Roy Junos live performance, curated by Sayak’s eccentric, haunted personality. Roy Juno is fully diy, and aspires to operate completely in-house while utilizing the tightly knit musical community in Boston.
