Join us every week for Bluesy Tuesy--a weekly, social Blues dance in Harvard Square! What's blues dancing? It's a partner dance that emphasizes connection, emotion and expression. It's a conversation between people without words. There's no basic step, so it's easy to get started and have a great time your first night out. Blues dance is a fun, a great way to meet new, cool friends, and enjoyable exercise. Join an inclusive, accepting, and encouraging community.


Every week, we offer a beginner appropriate, all levels lesson from 7:30-8:30 pm with national level instructors. From 8:30-11:00 pm, we have a social dance where you can dance with others to soulful music.


Admission is $5 for the lesson and $5 for the social dance. Bring soft-soled shoes or socks for dancing in, and a water bottle is recommended. The Democracy center bathroom is not wheelchair accessible, though the restaurant next door does have one that is. Baked goods are provided. Photos are not permitted at Bluesy Tuesy.

Bluesy Tuesy is even better when you bring a friend! Through December, you get into the lesson and dance for free when you bring a friend! Your friend will receive a coupon that lets them get into the lesson and dance free if they come again! Share a love of dance with not-yet-dancing-friends and get free dances yourself!
