Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (“Blue Cross”) is sponsoring complimentary Bluebikes Adventure Passes across the system this Sunday, May 8, to recognize Mental Health Awareness Month and National Bike Month.
The initiative is part of Blue Cross’ month-long “Miles for Mental Health” campaign, which reinforces Blue Cross’ commitment to improving mental health and wellness across its communities. To shine a light on the link between outdoor exercise, such as biking, and improved mental health and wellness, the state’s largest health plan is sponsoring free Adventure Passes, which includes unlimited two-hour rides for a 24-hour period, each Sunday in May.
Blue Cross is the title sponsor of Bluebikes, which is owned by the municipalities and operated by Lyft.
Free Adventure Passes can be accessed from any Bluebikes stations across the system’s 11 municipalities: Arlington, Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, Newton, Revere, Salem, Somerville and Watertown. A full list of Bluebikes stations can be found at www.bluebikes.com/map.
Riders can take advantage of free Adventure Passes by downloading and opening the Bluebikes app on a mobile device, and entering the appropriate code for each Sunday in May:
