**This event was originally scheduled for July 6th, but it has been moved to July 20th, to give our staff and participants adequate time to prepare!**
In the midst of a national movement for Black lives and an end to white supremacy, our team at Lamp has committed to educating ourselves more deeply on race/racism—and we invite you to learn with us. Join Lamp staff and the Cambridge Public Library in our inaugural #BlackLivesMatter Solidarity Book Club, on Monday, July 20th!
Read Me and White Supremacy by Layla M. Saad, and then join us on the 20th, at 7pm, for our virtual session. We’ll do some reflecting as a whole group, and then split into affinity groups so that white attendees, Black attendees, and non-Black attendees of color can process alongside a group of people with shared experiences.
Me and White Supremacy is available free to all local library card holders on Hoopla and OverDrive, just create an account and plug in your library card number, then search the book title! If you do not have a library card, follow this link to register online.
This event is free, with an optional, additional donation to Families for Justice as Healing, an organization led by incarcerated women, formerly incarcerated women, and women with incarcerated loved ones working to end the incarceration of women and girls.
