Every August, we commemorate the centuries-long struggle for Black Liberation, and the sacrifices of our ancestors that allow us to continue the work. This year's uprisings mark an important escalation in the struggle... we gather on Saturday 8/29 (masks, outdoors, 6 feet apart) to reflect on their precious contributions and on our duty to carry the movement forward.
Program will include:
-an opening libation by Sis. Mawakana of Sisters of the Calabash
-lighting of a fire to reflect the freedom in our hearts
-selected short readings by local movement leaders
-revolutionary drum circle led by Toussaint Liberator
Some drums and chairs will be available (plus sanitizer), but please bring if you have your own.
Jericho Boston is part of an international network, steadfast in our mission to honor those movement soldiers who have passed and to release our elders- as well as new generations of political targets- still locked in the empire's dungeons.
