Sunday, May 9, 2021, 10:30 AM-12 PM
M: $9 CHILD, $6 ADULT; NM: $15 CHILD, $18 ADULT
Instructor: Emily Williams
Where do birds go in the winter? What common species are in my neighborhood? How do I identify birds? Learn the answers to these questions and more on this family birding adventure. We will take to the trails and search for different bird species that make their homes in our gardens and grounds seasonally and year-round. We will practice making observations, using our senses, and learn some basic tips and tricks for identifying our feathered friends. Each child will receive a small packet of supplies to take home to continue their studies. Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars.
PLEASE NOTE THIS CLASS IS GEARED TOWARD CHILDREN WITH THEIR ADULT COMPANIONS.
Participants will be reminded to practice social distancing during the program and each family unit will receive a set of sanitized supplies to either borrow or take home to aid in their exploration. Materials will not be shared between participants. Group size will not exceed current state restrictions of 25 including an instructor.
This class is held entirely outdoors. Participants should dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. In case of inclement weather, a rain date will be communicated.
