This program is intended for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color only.

White supremacy culture has engrained in POC the need to work and toil so as to not be considered lazy. Capitalism lied: Self-worth is not tied to production. Join Shawnta Carson, BNC Preschool Teacher, as we use nature as a backdrop to engage in some well-deserved rest and self-care, and help break free of the chains of white supremacy. In this program we will use the trails of the BNC to learn and engage in meditation practices that you will be able to use while you are waiting for the bus, walking down the street, or even doing the dishes. We will be exploring nature journaling and relaxing forest bathing techniques to help us fight the resistance with rest.
