Bikes Not Bombs (BNB) uses the bicycle as a vehicle for social change in Boston and throughout the Global South. BnB offers programs to engage young people in Boston. Youth Pathways invites teens to learn bicycle safety and mechanics skills in the process of earning bikes for themselves. Youth Apprentices participate in a three-year paid program, learning Advanced Mechanics, teaching Bike School programs, leading community events, shipping bikes overseas, and working at the retail Bike Shop and Training Center. Each year, the organization collects 4,000+ donated used bicycles and parts that are distributed locally and overseas, supporting economic development in Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. For more, visit bikesnotbombs.org.
