For its final Second Saturdays program of the season, the McMullen Museum invites children ages 5 to 12 to explore the materiality of paint using a variety of methods and tools. After a guided tour of "Rafael Soriano: The Artist as Mystic," children and chaperones will experiment with various alternatives to the paint brush in applying paint to paper. Children are encouraged to bring their own tools/objects and share it with the group. Anything will work! A leaf, a smooth rock, a feather, a flower, a tomato: you name it. By using a variety of tools, children can explore the ways in which the picture changes depending on the methods and materials used.
Second Saturdays are free and open to the public. Because seats are limited, participants must register with the museum prior to the event at http://bit.ly/2jtZI6e.
