Come join us at Rx Strength Training for our Beginner Strongman Workshop! This hands-on event is perfect for those looking to dip their toes into the world of strongman training. Learn the basics of strongman exercises, techniques, and equipment from experienced trainers. Whether you're a complete novice or know your way around a gym, this workshop will help you build a solid foundation in strongman training. To briefly summarize, Strongman (& Strongwoman) is a sport that combines multiple fitness/barbell modalities to find out who the strongest person on the planet is, usually involving lifting standardized gym equipment as well as several "awkward" implements. The top of the sport normally attracts living giants, where being 6ft tall, 300 lbs is considered "small", and competitors are regularly pushing the bounds of what we consider as possible for human beings.
As for us: we're normal people who just like doing this stuff! The nice thing about the sport of Strongman is that it's full of friendly, inclusive people and is totally scalable to one's skill and strength level. Can't press a 200 lb keg over your head? No problem! We've got a 50 lb keg ready for you to start with. At our gym, we welcome all races, sexual orientations, religions, gender identities-- anyone and everyone (we even have a queer dominated powerlifting team that performs quite well!).
