New England and the Northeast have some of the best cheeses in the country....maybe even the world. During this cheese and beer pairing class, we will sample six regional cheeses that highlight the flavors of the Northeast while learning about how milk becomes cheese. Each hand-selected cheese - ranging from fresh to funky to blue - is paired with an accompaniment from another small local artisan as well as one of Bone-Up's signature beers. We will discuss what makes great pairings and which beers bring out the subtle notes of a cheese. All the cheeses and pairings come from small Northeastern Artisans. Bring your appetite because while it's *just cheese*, you'll walk away with a full belly and a head full of cheesy knowledge.
About your cheese instructor: Kimi, the founder of Life. Love. Cheese., spent over a decade in tech as an engineer and manager before saying "Goodbye" to the cubicle and going to culinary school. She has a MLA in Gastronomy and an Artisan Cheese Certificate from BU. She's also trained in cheesemaking at Sterling College alongside Jasper Hill and now she is an artisan cheese instructor at BU. Her company, Life. Love. Cheese. focuses on highlighting American cheese makers and artisans with a special emphasis on the Northeast.
