Come get the scoop on women-owned Beanstory - a bean company dedicated to uplifting farmers and restoring the earth!
Local bean brand Beanstory does more than just sell organic beans. They work directly with farmers, producers, chefs and customers to tell their stories. While the lens may begin on beans, the conversation expands into food waste, family history, and how to lessen your impact on the planet. We are thrilled to welcome them to our lab to continue this conversation! Katherine Yaphe of Beanstory will be joining us for an afternoon of sampling, selling and storytelling. Come learn more about their fledgling brand and taste the goodness yourself! You'll leave full of flavor and inspiration.
This is an open-house style event, where guests are invited to come say hello to a local, like-minded business in Curio's lab space. Stop by for as long as you like!
ABOUT BEANSTORY
Beanstory is a sustainable food brand sourcing organic and heirloom dried beans directly from small U.S. farms focused on soil health and regenerating the land. The company is rooted in the belief that eating better food, grown with respect for people and place, has the power to change the world.
ABOUT KATHERINE YAPHE
Beanstory co-founder, Katherine Yaphe, is a Canadian-born, New York-based entrepreneur. Her previous work in sustainable textile design led her down the path of wanting to learn more about food and getting to the source of ingredients. Once she started exploring how to repurpose materials for luxury home goods, she became more conscious about other aspects of her life; food being a profound connection point for us all. She and her business partner and childhood friend, Maggie Bentley, chose to elevate beans; a food with cultural significance and incredible health, societal, and environmental benefits that they believe is due for a moment to shine.
