Porter Square Books' April Be the Change event will feature Paul Grogan and Kathy Merchant, authors of Be Prepared to Be Lucky. Vanessa Calderon-Rosado will join them in conversation.
Throughout his successful career as a civic leader, Paul Grogan has proven that vision, determination, and collaboration can open the door to transformational change and good fortune.
Paul’s experience as an urban changemaker in four respected organizations spans five decades. He worked for two successive Boston mayors, served as CEO of LISC, transformed Harvard University’s relationship with the city of Boston, and capped his career as CEO of the Boston Foundation.
Underneath these credentials, driving his success, lie an astonishing range of skills and core values that unite Paul’s leadership platform. The scaffolding for this platform? A firm belief that an ounce of luck + a pound of effort = a ton of impact.
Paul’s memoir captures his stories and the recollections of people who knew him well. An accomplished writer and orator, Paul has published books and made speeches that are fresh and modern, withstanding the test of time.
