The Fed, British-inspired cocktail pub inside The Langham, Boston, and Barr Hill Gin of Vermont have partnered to create a signature gin for The Langham, Boston. To officially launch this partnership, The Fed will be hosting a Gin & Tonic launch party on Thursday, May 18 from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Members from Barr Hill Gin will be in attendance as well as a real enclosed hive and two representatives from Best Bee’s. Tickets are $22 and include a cocktail and snacks.
Known for its hand-crafted cocktails and perfect pints, The Fed resembles a 1920’s era private cocktail lounge paying homage to the buildings inception as the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. This batch of Barr Hill Gin is distilled in their custom-built botanical extraction stills. Heaps of juniper were brought to an elegant balance by the floral depth of raw honey that was harvested local to The Langham, Boston.
The story of Barr Hill begins with a distiller and a beekeeper working together in one of the most beautiful, agricultural places on Earth, Northern Vermont. Ryan Christiansen and Todd Hardie perfected the use of raw honey in their distillery, capturing the countless botanicals a honey bee forages into their spirits. The honey would always be kept raw to retain the character of the land that inspired them.
