Mezzo-soprano Carrie Cheron joins El Dorado Ensemble (Carol Lewis, Karen Burciaga, Mai-Lan Broekman, James Perretta, and Alice Mroszczyk, violas da gamba; Olav Chris Henriksen & Matthew Wright, lutes, bandora & cittern) in a program of music from the courts of James I and Charles I in England. There will be lively madrigals and dance-songs, as well as ravishing fantasies for viol consort and some seldom-heard duets for bandoras and cittern. The concert features works by Weelkes, Simpson, Robinson, Cutting, Lupo, Coleman and Lawes.
