Ava Suppelsa in Concert

Ava Suppelsa is a 19 year old singer/songwriter from Evanston, Illinois. Her music is a blend of folk, pop and country with hints of jazz. Despite her young age, Ava has already begun making a name for herself in the Chicago area. She began to play and write her own music at the age of twelve and began performing it live shortly after. In 2013, Ava snagged a coveted spot in the second year of the Interlochen Arts Academy Singer/Songwriter program. A captivating performer, she has an extensive list of past shows, including Club Nokia in Los Angeles, The New World Center in Miami, Hard Rock Cafe Chicago, and the WGN Chicago Radio and Morning News. She has also opened for popular indie singer/songwriter Andrew Belle and Grammy Nominee Hunter Hayes.

In 2014, she was selected as a Young Arts Finalist, a national arts competition- one of the 170 finalists chosen out of 11,000 applicants, and one of the 6 selected singer/songwriters. It was a honor for her to win and she got the chance to work alongside legendary artists such as Josh Groban, Chris Young and Desmond Child. Only weeks after, Ava was chosen as a winner of the Michigan Music Educators Association Composition Competition for her original compositions among Michigan's best young composers. In February of 2015, Ava was invited by the Grammy Foundation to Los Angeles during Grammy Week, where got the opportunity to play at Club Nokia with Grammy Award Nominee, Hunter Hayes.

Ava was accepted into the prestigious Berklee College of Music and is currently a student there studying songwriting and music business. As only a second semester student, she has established herself in the Boston music scene by playing venues across Massachusetts, getting local Massachusetts airplay and making numerous radio appearances. She is in the process of recording an EP that will be released this year, and continues to write more music and book more shows across Boston and Chicago.
