For this fall event we decided to start earlier in the day when the birds are out and about. Join us as we partner with Correne George, a Mass Audubon Teacher- Naturalist, to explore this 179-acre reservation owned and managed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation (DCR).
Learn the history of the failed Brook Farm utopian community that occupied this site from 1841-1847 as we explore woods, meadows, and marsh, focusing on the birds and other creatures calling this site their home.
The trails here are wide and flat. We will cover approximately three miles on foot.
Meet in the parking lot at the Baker Street entrance to 'The Gardens' Cemetery, 670 Baker Street, West Roxbury, located on the boundary between Newton and West Roxbury.
Park your vehicle adjacent to ‘;The Print Shop’ (the large wood frame building located to your right - about 75 yards from the Baker Street entrance). Signs and staff will direct you to a suitable parking spot.
DO NOT PARK ON THE CEMETERY ROADWAY OR IN FRONT OF THE CEMETERY ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES!
