On Saturday, August 17, 2019, Denette Family Chiropractic will host an Auto Safety Day at their office.
This event will include free car seat safety checks by CPS (Child Passenger Safety)-certified police officers. Statistics say that anywhere between 72%-84% of child restraints show critical misuses. The most common forms of misuse are using the wrong seat for the child's age and weight, loose safety belt attachment to the car seat and loose harness straps on the child. Startlingly, another statistic says 96% of parents believe their child safety seats are installed correctly! Using the car seat incorrectly makes it 3.5 times more likely for a child to be seriously injured during a crash. Parents can prevent becoming a statistic by getting their car seats checked and ensuring that their most precious cargo is properly restrained!
Also at the event, they will have information on setting up the drivers' seat using proper ergonomics to avoid back pain and tips on what to do if you are involved in a motor vehicle collision!
