MassArt's Creative Writing Minor Reading Series presents MassArt Alumni Authors Julian K. Jarboe & Errick Nunnally for an evening of speculative fiction. Hear from these two alumni as they share their work and respond to questions from the audience.
Julian K. Jarboe '12 (BFA Studio for Interrelated Media & History of Art) is a writer and artist living in Salem, Massachusetts. Most of their art incorporates text and language. Their debut collection of short fiction, Everyone on the Moon is Essential Personnel, was listed as one of the “best books of 2020” by Publishers’ Weekly and received the 2021 Lambda Literary Award for Science Fiction/Fantasy/Horror. Other recent projects include the role-playing games Inscrutable Cities and Over Easy. Julian is also a sound designer, woodworker, and event producer.
Errick Nunnally '97 (BFA Graphic Design) was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, and served one tour in the Marine Corps before deciding art school was a safer pursuit. He enjoys art, comics, and genre novels. A graphic designer, he has trained in Krav Maga and Muay Thai kickboxing. His work has appeared in several anthologies and is best described as “dark pulp.” His work can be found in APEX MAGAZINE, FIYAH MAGAZINE, GALAXY’S EDGE, LAMPLIGHT, NIGHTLIGHT PODCAST, and the novels, LIGHTNING WEARS A RED CAPE, BLOOD FOR THE SUN, and ALL THE DEAD MEN.
Co-presented by Liberal Arts’ Creative Writing Minor, Alumni Relations, and the MassArt Alumni Leadership Council. Questions? Email: [email protected]
