Industry Lab's enigmatic Winter '18-'19 Artist in Residence Fatty Spice will be showcasing the work she completed during her three month residency on the evening of March 8th.
Originally from Boston, Dani Thomas, also known by her artist name Fatty Spice, went to Montserrat College of Art where she got her BFA in Book Arts. Upon graduation, she moved to Brooklyn and began experimenting with installation, sculpture, and performance art. She participated in a touring art show, Fatter IRL, focusing on works by fat artists.
During her residency, Fatty Spice revisited a work "Sometimes You Get Peaches, Sometimes You Get Lunchmeat". The reimagined piece will be on display at this event.
If you've never been to Industry Lab before, access to our event space can be found around the back of the building at 288 Norfolk Street (look for the cloud mural).
