About the exhibition:
The Guild of Boston Artists is proud to present The Wondrous Worlds of William Bartlett in the Presidents’ Gallery of its Newbury street location from November 3 – December 5. Comprised of nearly 60 paintings made over the course of a 20-year career, this show explores truth, beauty, and realism. Some of the works question whether trompe l’oeil is a precise replication or a deception of perceived reality. The show’s subject matter is varied; many conjure narratives, some are curious or playful, but all embody the artist’s perception of beauty.
