Are you an artist looking to expand your drawing toolkit, a regular from our Tuesday night figure drawing sessions wanting more, or simply seeking creative summer fun? The Cambridge Art Association's new three-part "Experiments in Drawing" series is perfect for you. These innovative workshops begin just as our regular figure drawing sessions end for the season, offering a space to discover unexpected techniques, materials, and perspectives that challenge conventional approaches to drawing. Join us to reimagine the possibilities of drawing through playful exploration, regardless of your experience level.
ART THROUGH RESTRICTION
Sometimes, when we sit down to be creative, we can feel immobilized by choice. Although it may seem counterintuitive, providing yourself with challenges can actually be an excellent catalyst for invention. Artists must invent ways to operate around obstacles, forcing them to use problem-solving skills and adapt to new situations. Unique processes, use of materials, and color combinations that one may not have considered otherwise emerge through this playful and imaginative approach to art.
