Art Workshop: Climate Data with Jill Pelto

Limited tickets available at the Admissions and Information desks. Recommended for ages 10 and up.
Join Jill Pelto, featured artist in Climate Action: Inspiring Change, and make some data art of your own. Choose from five different data charts, then trace, transfer and incorporate these data lines into your designs. Share your discoveries with others in the workshop and learn how art can be used to communicate important scientific knowledge.

Join author Danielle Greendeer (Mashpee Wampanoag) as she reads her new children's book, Keepunumuk: Weeâchumun's Thanksgiving Story. Then, meet the three seeds known as the “three sisters” and create your own garden craft to celebrate the time of planting. A book signing follows the program.

Move your body to the beat of hand drums played by featured artist David Greendeer, joined by Cameron Greendeer (Narragansett and Ho-Chunk). David will guide the group in composing a new song inspired by his SuperHero drums with messages of urgency, hope and healing for our planet.

Body Map Storytelling Workshop with Elizabeth L. Sweet

Discover the powerful tool of body map storytelling with Professor Sweet! Body mapping is the process of creating artistic representations of our bodies and connecting to feelings, sensations, visual symbols and memory. Through a lens of curiosity, care and community witnessing, we will explore our embodied responses to climate change and connect to our love for the earth. After tracing our bodies onto paper, three prompts will guide us as we use an assortment of art materials to fill in our maps.
